TalentedEurope

After summer holidays, Talented Europe is on the road again

We are back! After some days out we are working again.

State of the project

At this moment, there are registered in the Talented Europe platform: 48 students (4 of them, validated), 31 companies and 21 acadimic institutions. The process to recruit different stackholders is still working. Remember that Talented Europe is available on the web and on Google Play market (soon in App Store for iOS)

During this summer we have seen some changes in our partnership. Regrettably, the University of Bedfordshire had decided to withdraw from the Talented Europe project from 1st July 2017. After, some considerations, we have found a new partner: Out of the Box International (Welcome!)

On the other hand, our partner University of Kosice is working in order to host the next Multiplier Event and the 5th Transnational Meeting for this project.

We are going to keep you informed!

TE_eComputing

Talented Europe was showed in “eComputing” conference

TE_eComputingLast 3rd of July there was a conference called eComputing at IES Puerto de la Cruz – Telesforo Bravo. The conference covered different topics related to the Computing Teaching in vocational training institutions all around Spain. In fact, part of the audience came from Mainland.

This conference was former promoted by Institut Obert de Catalunya. This time, in Tenerife, we counted on David Vargas’ collaboration, a computing teacher of IES Puerto de la Cruz, who organized everything in collaboration with Joan Carles Pérez (from Institut Obert de Catalunya).

Furthermore, the conference was economically supported by the Administrative Office of Vocational Trainings of the Regional Educational Government of Canary Islands. Even, it could be introduced by Manuel Jorge, head of the aforementioned Administrative Office.

As part of the official agenda, Sergio Delgado Quintero (from IES Puerto de la Cruz) showed the main aspects of the project Talented Europe, explaining the different intellectual outputs, the meetings that have been taken, the aims and future of the project. Actually there were a lot of questions regarding the use cases of the web application. This is quite important for us since it proves a big interest of the audience. Sergio Delgado encouraged the listeners to sign up into the application and to promote the project within their own educational institutions.

Employability

What is employability?

The term employability is used in different contexts and in different ways.

a set of achievements – skills, understandings and personal attributes – that make graduates more likely to gain employment and be successful in their chosen occupations, which benefits themselves, the workforce, the community and the economy

Professor Mantz Yorke (2004)’Employability in Higher Education: what it is- what it is not’, Higher Education Academy/ESECT

Employability is not the same as gaining a graduate job, rather it is about the capacity to function successfully in a role and be able to move between occupations, thus remaining employable throughout their life. (more…)
